Bloodied But Unbowed Pretty much the perfect example of what traditional doom and traditional heavy metal are supposed to sound like. Favorite track: Atom Smasher.

Matthew Toye This early doom masterpiece is steeped in Tolkien fantasy and incredible musicianship. A true reminder of what makes heavy metal from the '80s still influential today. Favorite track: Finger of Scorn.

Henrik Thøgersen Don't talk to me about epic metal, if you haven't heard this album. King of the Dead will flay your immortal soul!

Also, the remastering is superb. And epic. Favorite track: Master of the Pit.

Berwyn Powell If only all remasters could sound like this one. I downloaded the flac files on Friday morning (it's now Sunday afternoon) and have been listening to them virtually non-stop all weekend.

Unlike most modern metal releases, this one has plenty of dynamics and room around the instruments, so you can turn it up loud; when you do you'll find yourself lost in a world of screaming vocals, wailing guitars, booming bass, and pounding drums (and, of course, Revenant Kings). Highly, highly recommended! Favorite track: Finger of Scorn.
